Can you make 6 figures in the lash industry?

I know what you’re thinking, is being a lash tech an affordable and sustainable career? The answer is yes, you can make 6 figures or more as a lash tech. This of course all depends on what you are pricing your services at and how many clients you take a week. Let’s figure out together just how many clients you would need to take and at what price to successfully make 6 figures as a lash tech. Keep in mind, this is going to be your gross income before taxes and expenses.

How much should you charge your lash clients?

The price of lash extensions will vary in different areas and destinations. In Arizona for example, I have seen lash artists charge up to $375 for a full set of lash extensions. I have also experienced lash techs charge as little as $80 for the same service. This is all based on the quality and expertise of a lash service. This is why investing in your lash career (i.e. an advanced lash training) is so important. The better your skill is the more you will be able to charge your clients. Decide on a figure in your head of how much money you would like to make in a year. Now let’s calculate just how many clients you will need to take to achieve that financial goal.

How many lash clients should you take?

The answer is simple, how many lash clients do YOU want to take? One of the most wonderful things about being a lash tech is that you get to decide how many days a week you want to work. With that you also get to decide how many clients you take. If you have specific financial goals then this number can vary.

Let’s do some math. Let’s say you want to make at least $100,000 in your first year of doing lash extensions. 100k x 12 months is $8,333. Now we divide $8,333 by 4 weeks which is $2,083. This means you will need to be making at least $2,083 dollars a week to reach that goal. If you were to take 30 clients a week you would need to charge no less than $69 per client. If you were to take 20 clients a week you would need to charge no less than $105 clients per client. If you were to take 15 clients a week you would need to charge no less than $139 per client.

Conclusion

In conclusion, you could potentially work a total of 3 days a week with 5 clients a day and reach your goal of making $100,000 in your first year of doing lash extensions. Adjust all the math we just did to fit your work schedule and personal goals. A lot of people think that you need 100 clients to have your books full to make enough money to sustain a preferred lifestyle. That is the furthest from the truth. You saw it here just now. You could take a total of 30 clients and be on track for your financial goal. You can totally make 6 figures as a lash technician, if you invest the time into making your client experience and skillset the best it can possibly be. It won't happen overnight, but this goal is completely attainable if you put in the work and build a business that attracts loyal clients.
