Light Heart started the way most good things do — out of a genuine need that nobody was filling well enough.
Maddi Morris had been a lash artist for years. She was running a packed schedule, training students on weekends, and spending every spare dollar on education — traveling far, taking every class she could find, trying to get better. What she kept noticing was the gap between the quality of education available and what lash artists actually needed. The products, the training, the community — all of it could be better.
So she built it herself.
Today, Light Heart is a full lash brand: professional supplies, digital education, in-person training, and a community of lash artists that we genuinely believe is the kindest in the industry. When you buy from Light Heart, you're not just a customer. You're part of what we're building.
Meet Maddi
Madison "Maddi" Morris is the founder of Light Heart — and if you've spent any time in the lash space, you've probably seen her work.
She grew up on a small sailboat. As a kid she was already obsessed with beauty — crushing seashells to make eyeshadow, giving everyone around her makeovers. At 15 she started as a bridal makeup apprentice. At 18 she attended esthetics school in Anchorage, Alaska. Then one day a busy day spa needed a lash artist, and her career started by accident — at minimum wage.
She didn't stay there long. Within a couple of years she was running her own lash business: 12 clients a day, 6 days a week. She spent every dollar she made on continuing education — traveling to take 12+ lash classes, constantly pushing her technique. By the time she was 20 she was training other artists on weekends. She trained 15 students in 15 weekends before she and Elliott moved to Arizona in 2020.
In Scottsdale, she spent 18 months building her clientele from scratch in a brand new city. Then came Light Heart Studios — salon suites, a coffee shop, a training academy — built from the ground up over 9 months of construction. Then came the product line, the online academy, the podcast, the tours.
Today Maddi has trained 500+ artists in person and 5,000+ online. She still only uses 0.03mm lashes for every single style she creates. Her clients get 3–4 week retention. She built the Angel Lash technique from scratch and it went viral. She is still, after 10+ years, genuinely obsessed with lashes.
Her philosophy hasn't changed: do the work, take care of your clients, build something real.
Meet Elliott
Elliott Morris is Maddi's husband and Light Heart's co-founder. He came from robotics engineering — which, if you've read any of the technical blog posts, makes a lot of sense. He writes with the same precision he brought to engineering: systematic, specific, and built around diagnosing the actual root cause of a problem rather than guessing.
He left his engineering career to join Light Heart full-time after watching what Maddi was building and deciding he wanted to be part of it. He runs the business, writes technical content, co-hosts the podcast, and keeps everything running. He's also the reason the adhesive specs are published in humidity percentages and Fahrenheit ranges instead of "it depends on your environment."
The Educators
Erica Dube — Master Educator
Erica has been in the lash industry for 9 years. She leads private 1:1 training at Light Heart Studios in Scottsdale and is the artist you want when you need personalized, hands-on instruction from someone who has genuinely seen everything. She brings rigor and patience in equal measure.
Casey — Lead Tour Educator
Casey travels for Light Heart — running workshops across the country as part of the Light Heart Tour. She brings the in-person experience to artists who can't make it to Scottsdale, and she does it with the same standard we hold every Light Heart education to.
The Products
Every product we sell went through a real development process. The adhesives alone took 12–18 months — manufacturer vetting, formula testing with 1–200 artists, safety compliance, and international regulatory review. We don't launch products until they work.
The lashes are Maddi's 0.03mm formula — the lightest, softest extensions we could build, designed so that a single diameter can create every style from natural Angel Sets to dramatic Mega Volume. The adhesives (Kisses, Hugs, and Everywhere) are built for three different environments and skill levels. The tweezers are named for the people who helped design them. Nothing is here by accident.
The Community
We run a podcast — My Lash Two Braincells — that has 73+ episodes and a 4.9-star rating. We have an active community of lash artists who genuinely support each other. We've hosted events, traveled for workshops, and built a membership program for artists who want to be first to know what's coming next.
We are not the biggest lash brand. We are trying to be the best one — for the artists who actually care about their craft, their clients, and their business.
